June 16, 1980 Monsignor Leo Cleary with his two sisters Sister Roberta and Sister Celine of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Peterborough, arrive in Courtice to establish the parish of St. Therese.
1980 - 1982 Mass is celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Sundays in Courtice Secondary School auditorium.
1982 Rectory and basement church are built on Courtice Road.
January 25, 1983 The new basement church, to seat 200, is blessed by Bishop Doyle.
June 1986 Construction of present church is begun by Gerr Construction Company. The building will seat 500 people.
January 25, 1987 St. Therese is consecrated as a church.
1987 A school, Monsignor L. Cleary, is established in the basement of the Church.
April 1987 Monsignor L. Cleary retires due to ill health, having suffered a serious heart attack the previous November.
April - July 1987 Father W. Maloney and Father P. Conlin are assigned as temporary pastors.
May 31, 1987 Presentation of appreciation gifts to Monsignor Cleary, Sister Roberta, Sister Celine and farewell celebration.
July 1987 Father John Wannamaker becomes the new pastor of St. Therese.
August 13, 1988 Father Norbert Glasmacher, who arrived in the parish from Rome, becomes a deacon.
September 1988 New school - Monsignor L. Cleary is built on the same lot.
March 18, 1989 Father Norbert is ordained here by Bishop Doyle and subsequently returns to Peterborough - June 1990.
July-Nov. 1989 Lottery is organized and takes place to pay off the mortgage of the Church.
Sept. 30, 1990 Celebration by Father Wannamaker of the 10th anniversary of establishment of the Parish of St. Therese.
January 1991 Father Neil Campbell is ordained to the priesthood at St. Therese by Bishop Doyle.
June 1992 Father Norbert returns to be assistant pastor.
October 3, 1993 A group of nuns from the Order of the Daughters of St. Mary of Leuca arrives to establish a convent and to begin their work in our parish.
October 1, 1994 Breaking of the ground for construction of the new convent.
October 9, 1994 A pilgrimage to Fatima and Rome of 46 parishioners and friends is organized and led by Father Norbert. Purpose is to attend the religious profession of Marian Delaney, one of our parishioners, who is now Sister Teresina in the Order of the Daughters of St. Mary of Leuca. She continues her studies in Rome.
June 3, 1995 New convent is blessed by Bishop Doyle and farewell celebration is given for Father John Wannamaker who is leaving the parish.
June 29, 1995 Fr. Norbert Glasmacher is appointed Pastor (He was deacon at St. Therese’s in 1988-89, ordained here on March 18, 1989, associate pastor in 1989-90 and again from June 1992 until June 1995)
July 21, 1995 Visit to our new convent by the Mother General of the Daughters of St. Mary of Leuca and Cardinal Agustoni, their spiritual advisor and protector.
Sept. 30, 1995 Celebration in honour of St. Therese and special blessing of the beautiful stained glass windows installed in our Church.
Oct. 1996 - Oct. 1997 Centenary celebration of St. Therese’s entering eternal life
June 6, 1996 Our first Parish Advisory Board meeting
Oct. 1997 Our second parish pilgrimage to Lisieux, Lourdes, Paris, Venice, Padua, Florence, Siena, Cascia and Rome
Aug. 17-26,

46 from our Parish and surrounding attended World Youth Day in Paris with over 1 million Catholic young people from around the world, who followed the Holy Father's invitation to meet, to learn and to pray.
